About BOK, LLC

A free social entertainment studio rooted in Vancouver, BC — built for adults who love play without pressure.

How BOK, LLC Began

BOK, LLC was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, by a group of game designers and visual artists who shared a single frustration: most free-to-play platforms felt extractive. Dark patterns, fake scarcity timers, and aggressive upsells dominated a landscape that claimed to offer "free" entertainment. We believed adults deserved better — a genuinely free, aesthetically rich experience with no hidden agenda.

The idea took shape during a hiking trip along the Garibaldi Plateau in 2023. Surrounded by ancient western red cedars, Pacific salmon streams, and the dramatic basalt ridgelines of the Coast Mountains, our co-founders sketched the first BOK, LLC symbol set on a notepad. Every column icon — the raven, the fern, the cedar cone — was designed to feel like a small piece of BC's biodiversity, not a generic stock graphic. That commitment to genuine craft has defined the studio ever since.

We are headquartered at 847 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2W9, in the heart of a city that itself is shaped by water, forest, and mountain. Our small team of 12 spans game logic engineering, UX design, accessibility compliance, and responsible-play advisory. We do not have investors demanding growth-at-any-cost metrics. We are funded entirely by advertising partnerships that we vet for ethical alignment — never real-money gaming operators, lotteries, or sports-playing companies.

Responsible play is not a legal checkbox for us — it is the entire premise. BOK, LLC operates under the principle that entertainment should feel like a park, not a entertainment platform. Our platform is deliberately free, deliberately calm, and deliberately transparent about what the virtual credits on your screen are worth: nothing monetarily, but potentially something in terms of relaxation and enjoyment on a slow Tuesday evening.

As of 2026, BOK, LLC is played by adults across British Columbia who return not because of dopamine-driven reward loops, but because the art direction is genuinely lovely and the game works flawlessly on their phone. That is the success metric we care about. This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over only.

"We built BOK, LLC because we wanted to prove that free entertainment could be premium — not manipulative. If you leave our site feeling refreshed rather than chased, we have done our job."

The People Behind the Forest

Our core creative team combines deep expertise in game design, frontend engineering, and responsible-entertainment advocacy. We are small by design — agile enough to iterate quickly, human enough to genuinely care about the player experience.

Sarah Chen, Lead Designer at BOK, LLC

Sarah Chen

Lead Designer

Sarah spent eight years at a Vancouver interaction-design agency before co-founding BOK, LLC. Her specialty is turning environmental photography into game-ready icon systems. Every column symbol passed through her hands before reaching a pixel on your screen.

Maya Okonkwo, UX Engineer at BOK, LLC

Maya Okonkwo

UX Engineer

Maya's background bridges design and frontend development. She owns the mobile-first architecture that makes BOK, LLC load in under two seconds on an LTE connection. She also leads our accessibility reviews, ensuring the platform works for users with visual and motor differences.

Jordan Kim, Game Logic Engineer at BOK, LLC

Jordan Kim

Game Logic Engineer

Jordan designed the weighted-random symbol distribution system that keeps plays feeling genuinely varied without manipulating the player. His rule: every outcome must be explainable in plain language. No hidden states, no invisible multiplier pools — just transparent, entertaining randomness.
